A Disney Birthday???

This cake is for a co-worker's 2 children who have close birthdays. One wanted Genie from Aladin and the other wanted the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. Ok? So, here it is. The cake is chocolate with buttercream icing. I will say that the beast was not one of my easiest drawings to do. Genie wasn't so bad, but I don't think that I did the creators at disney any justice. Sorry.

Merry Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas
I made the first cake to take to work with me on Christmas Eve. It was devoured. It was a cinnamon-swirl cake with cream cheese icing. Mmmm....

I made the second cake for a dear patient that I have been taking care of over the last few weeks. She was unfortunate enough to have to stay in the hospital over Christmas. I thought that she and her family would enjoy a sweet treat. It is also a cinnamon-swirl cake with creamcheese icing. The Santa is make out of clay (and happens to be sitting on top of wax paper so that it doesn't touch the icing) I hope they enjoyed!

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!!!

This one is dedicated to Holden, Happy Birthday Son!

I can hardly believe that one whole year has passed us by. It seems like only yesterday that I was anxiously awaiting his arrival. It has been a blessing to watch something so small grow to do so many things in such a small amount of time. It seems as though every baby stage stays forever, but looking back, they came and went in a flash. It took 9 weeks for Holden to sleep through the night. I thought I was dead for sure after the first 8. Then, the dread of going back to work set in. I enjoyed my time that I had to breast feed my son. I hate that I had to stop once I returned back to the "real world". Holden did not nap until he was 5 months old...that was kind of miserable. But when he learned how, he did it like a champ. I am talking 2 to 3 hour naps! :) He cut lots of teeth this year. I believe that he has 12 now. He is also walking and talking (well, you know, babyneese). I look forward to watching him grow into a young man. What a blessing.
I love you Holden! Mama's punkin' head!
Now, a walk down memory lane...closing us off with a picture of his BIRTHDAY CAKE!!

Happy Birthday and Welcome Baby

Happy Birthday and Welcome Baby
The first cake is for a young lady that is turning 14, obviously. Mom couldn't give me anything specific to work with as far as a theme, so we went with colors. Her favorite color was purple (also obvious), so we went with that. I thought that the paisley touch was feminine and not so childish. The cake is a white cake and the icing is buttercream with a strawberry and buttercream filling in the center. I hope that she has a happy 14th!

The second cake is for a baby shower that we are throwing for a co-worker of mine. She is due in December. She is having a little girl that she is naming Lola Rose. I love that! The cake is white...and should be delectible. The icing is buttercream and it is decorated with marshmallow fondant stripes and diaper!

I am not done yet. I should have one more rolling out tomorrow...so stay tuned.

Baby Day, Halloween Style!
I did this cake for fun. A group of my friends get together once a week with our kids for a "play date" sort of thing we like to call Baby Day. This week's baby day is going to be our group photo day. The kids are bringing their Halloween costumes to wear for the photo. I thought that a nice pumpkin cake would be fun for the festivities. :)
